Costanza Alegiani is an italian singer, composer and improviser. She graduated with the highest marks and the distinction in Jazz Music from Conservatorio di Musica «Licinio Refice» in Frosinone, and after the bachelor degree she worked as trainee at Koninklijk Conservatorium of Bruxelles, within the Jazz Department. She, also, graduated with the highest marks and the distinction in Philosophy from Università «La Sapienza» of Rome. She studied Jazz Singing with Diana Torto, Cinzia Spata, Giuppi Paone, Vocal Tecnique, modern and Lyrical, with Albert Hera, Danila Satragno, Raffaella Misiti, Sabina Meyer, Angela Bucci. She attended workshop and masterclasses hold by wellknown musicians such as: Bobby Mc Ferrin and Roger Treece (Rhinneback, NY), David Linx (Bruxelles), Jay Clayton, Phil Minton, Giovanna Marini, Chiara Guidi. She studied composition and arrangement with Roger Treece (New York), Roberto Spadoni, Bruno Tommaso (Chieti in Jazz 2010-2011), Marco Tiso, Gianluigi Giannatempo, jazz piano with Ramberto Ciammarughi.

She achieved different musical projects as composer and singer, such as: Fair is foul and foul is fair(2014), her first album as leader (recorded in Bruxelles and out on Improvvisatore Involontario) is a project inspired by Verdi’s Othello and Macbeth, written for jazz septet; the album has received great reviews from the Italian jazz critics and radio and from the foreign press (such as Claude Loxay, Bernardre Lefevre, Philippe Baron on RTBF, Jonio Gonzales). She is the leader of a new Trio project, Folkways, with Marcello Allulli and Riccardo Gola. The Recital Tutto questo non é nient’altro che un gioco, 2013 (Festival I solisti del Teatro, Da Donne a Donna), based on a poetry book Il Mondo Salvato dai ragazzini by Elsa Morante.
She always confronts herself with different musical repertoires, despite her total involvement in music.
She worked as Soloist singer in several theatrical productions such as: Threepenny Opera by Bertold Brecht with Musa Orchestra (Università La Sapienza, Rome), La Buona Novella (RomaEuropaFestival), Peer Gynt (Andrea Mancianti, Zeitlet Ex-emble), as part of the Choir for L’ultima volta che vidi mio padre (Societas Raffaello Sanzio), MossoVivo (Body songs Festival,Prato). the soundtrack of the shortmovie Sorelle (2012), produced by Centro Sperimentale Cinecittà. She has been the Singer of the electro-acoustic music band Zeitlet X-mble (active from 2006 to 2010) directed by Andrea Mancianti, with whom she conceived several project such as: the album Studi preparatori per la fine del mondo, the theatrical opera Peer Gynt, soundtrack of the shortmovie Pasprefut by Davide Maldi.
As teacher, she worked as trainee at ErasmusHogeschool Koninklijk Conservatorium in Bruxelles (2012-2013) with Kris Defoort and David Linx. She taught Singing, Ear Training and Harmony at Centro L’Ottava in Rome (2010-2012). She also worked as assistant and interpreter of Jonathan Kreisberg (Fara Music Festival 2012), Roger Treece (Castell’Alfero Voice Festival and Bobby McFerrin and Voicestra Workshop).
